چکیده
Based on the particle-flow paradigm, a new hadronic calorimeter (HCAL) with scintillating glass tiles is proposed to address major challenges from precision measurements of jets at future lepton colliders, such as Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC). Tiles high-density glass, high-energy sampling fraction, can significantly improve energy resolution in low-energy region (typically below 10 GeV for jet components Higgs factories). The single hadrons and effects key parameters have been evaluated Geant4 full simulation, followed by physics benchmark studies boson final state. R&D efforts materials are ongoing within dedicated collaboration since 2021 aim achieve high light yield, density, low cost. Measurements performed first batches samples including emission scintillation spectra, decay times, cosmic responses. An optical simulation model tile has established provide guidance development glass. Highlights expected detector performance latest developments presented this contribution.

متن کاملDevelopment of MicroMegas for a Digital Hadronic Calorimeter
Future particle physics experiments at the International Linear Collider (ILC) [1] will employ the Particle Flow Algorithm (PFA). In order to achieve an optimal PFA performance, a highly granular hadronic calorimeter with a good shower separation is required. One of the suitable and affordable choice for an active part of the hadronic calorimeter is a thin gaseous detector with embedded digital...
متن کاملValidation of GEANT 4 Monte Carlo models with a highly granular scintillator - steel hadron calorimeter
Calorimeters with a high granularity are a fundamental requirement of the Particle Flow paradigm. This paper focuses on the prototype of a hadron calorimeter with analog readout, consisting of thirty-eight scintillator layers alternating with steel absorber planes. The scintillator plates are finely segmented into tiles individually read out via Silicon Photomultipliers. The presented results a...
متن کاملRefinement of the T466 Prototype Tungsten/Scintillating Fiber Electromagnetic Calorimeter
In April 2003, UCLA researchers conducted test run T466 at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center with their newly designed electromagnetic calorimeter towers composed of tungsten powder and scintillating fibers. The prototype’s energy resolution, uniformity of response, and linearity were measured using an electron beam with a momentum of up to 10 GeV. The measured energy resolution was 17%/ √...
